This is a signed copy of the acclaimed work by the former Capt. of Co. C, 6th N.H. Vols. Jackman witnessed the war from Manassas in 1861 to his capture at Poplar Church in the closing days of the war. His descriptions of events such as the Crater rank among the most accurate, insightful, and moving ever recorded.
Capt. Jackman inscribed this copy to a man and included his full rank and unit designation and dated the book Dec. 25, 1891, the year this 1st Edition was printed.
A wonderful regimental history by a keen and articulate historian of the unit. 630 pages, some illustrations and photographs. Good condition for its age.
