Here is a sweet Western Theatre manufactured foot officer's sword believed to be a product of either Thomas Leech, Leech & Rigdon, or Conning. The blade is 30 1/4" with overall length of 35 1/4" long. The original leather scabbard is long gone. Condition overall is very nice. The blade is unstopped. Most of the thin leather grip is intact and the wire wrap is complete. The tiny numbers 128 are stamped in the ricasso, a characteristic found most frequently on Conning swords which makes maker identity perplexing. In any case it is a fine Western Theatre Confederate sword. Priced affordably!
