Item #: FD 253

This beautiful pair of Confederate spurs were unearthed in Brandy Station, Virginia. Cast brass with small iron rowels long since rusted away these were dubbed "CS 4" style by Civil War spur expert and author Howard Crouch. These were considered "unbreakable" by Crouch based on their thickness and sturdy, heavy casting. A number of this style have been recovered from eastern theater sites occupied by Lee's cavalry. Seldom are they found in pairs such as this.
