This plate looks as though it spent some time in moist soil or in a creek bed judging by the patina on both face and lead fill. Both attachment hooks are rusted off the reverse but the plate is sound overall The face is somewhat convex but displays well. An early plate from Dr. Lord's famous collection. This plate, like his others, was most likely excavated in the mid-1950s to early 1960s.
