This cartridge box plate was unearthed in 1950s-1960s at Winchester, Virginia, by Dr. Lord and has remained in his collection since then. The face has a nice greenish patina and shows the marks of hard campaigning but is intact and sound. Both iron hooks are snapped off the reverse and the plate has a small tag taped to the back that reads "Winchester."
