Here is a very nice intact but unmarked CS foot officers sword that bears a strong resemblance to the Haiman foot swords however, the top edge is rounded rather than flat which makes its maker more likely a James Conning produced weapon. Overall condition is very good. All original although the leather on the grip reveals some flaking and chipping customary with field grade swords. Double strand brass wire is still in place. The reverse ricasso bears the small benchmark numbers "128" in individually stamped numerals indicative of a Conning product.
Overall length is 36" and blade length is approximately 30 1/4". A fine, Western Theatre manufactured Confederate field officer's sword.
