Carbine Sling Buckle
Item #: LD 227
This is a real nice example of a Federal cavalry issue carbine sling buckle. It has a slight bend indicative of use. There is no indication of the origin of this relic. Since most of Dr. Lord's excavated pieces were found in the Shenandoah Valley, I would expect this was from one of Sheridan's troopers. A nice piece from a famous collection!
