This Model 1894 officer's signal bugle was the first contract let after the US declared war in 1917. Also known as a "trench bugle" this one was made by Horstmann Company in Philadelphia and bears the company's logo on the bell. It measures 9 1/4" by 4 1/8" and retains the correct period cord. Excellent piece for a WW I display! From the collection of noted collector and author Chris Nelson.
